Job Summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to serve as a preceptor for Internal Medicine residents in an outpatient setting. The selected candidate will work closely with the Internal Medicine Program Director, Office Manager, and Department of Internal Medicine to provide clinical, operational, and educational support to residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure Compliance and Quality
    • Ensure the clinic meets all requirements for maintaining ACGME accreditation, ensuring residents receive strong training in outpatient medicine.
    • Oversee, develop, and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in the outpatient healthcare center.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Work with the Internal Medicine Program Director, Office Manager, and/or DIO in providing clinical, operational, patient experience, and staff experience goals of the healthcare center.
    • Collaborate with Office Manager to provide residents with performance data on chronic disease management and preventative healthcare.
  • Resident Development and Feedback
    • Instruct residents in and monitor appropriate use of Evaluation and Management Documentation as per CMS guidelines.
    • Provide each resident with timely feedback and evaluation.
  • Quality Improvement and Process Development
    • Oversee quality improvement projects in the healthcare center.
    • Develop a system to provide coverage of urgent problems experienced by patients on the panel of a resident who is not readily available.

Preferred Qualifications

The selected candidate preferably will be privileged in and provide oversight for outpatient procedures required by the American Board of Internal Medicine and/or Internal Medicine residency program (i.e. venipuncture, PAP/endocervical culture).
