Patient Financial Advocate Oncology Clinic Specialist

This role is responsible for assisting patients with financial assistance paperwork and obtaining financial reimbursement for Oncology Service Line patients. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, proficiency in customer service, and knowledge of patient financial services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial counseling to patients and their families, explaining company financial policies and available resources.
- Act as a liaison between patients, the billing department, and payers to enhance account receivables performance and resolve outstanding issues.
- Communicate with clinical teams and outside entities to ensure patient needs are met.
- Research and resolve patient concerns and needs in collaboration with team members.
- Collaborate with social services to offer advice on lodging and transportation options for patients and families.
- Obtain and track grants from outside foundations, enter them into the system, and generate reports to identify expiring or exhausted grants.
- Review system reports for billing compliance and accuracy, communicating with staff to correct discrepancies and resolve documentation problems.
- High school diploma or equivalent working knowledge.
- Knowledge of patient financial services or financial service processes, normally acquired over one or more years of work experience in hospital customer service and/or medical billing or related experience.
- Strong organizational abilities and proficiency in customer service.
