Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Insight Global. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction phase of environmental remediation projects, ensuring technical supervision and management of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Supervision: Provide technical guidance and oversight to contractors and subcontractors during the construction phase of environmental remediation projects.
  • Construction Management: Manage construction activities, including bid preparation, remedial system design, reviewing shop drawings/specifications/product data, creating and maintaining schedules, health and safety work plans, and communication of construction activities to all levels of the multi-discipline installation team.
  • Field Oversight: Conduct field oversight of contractors and subcontractors, ensuring performance, quality, schedule, safety, and technical effectiveness.
  • Remedial Technology Evaluation: Evaluate remedial technologies for site-specific application, conduct pilot studies, and develop designs for site-specific implementation.
  • Field Studies and Surveys: Conduct environmental field studies and surveys, working as part of a field team to conduct investigation and/or oversight projects.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support as part of a project team performing preliminary assessments, site investigations, remedial investigations/actions, site surveys, feasibility studies, and providing solutions to clients under CERCLA, RCRA, and other environmental compliance regulations.
  • Office Tasks: Organize project data, conduct data analysis, compile field data for project archives and reporting, author portions of or complete reports, assist with all activities involved in preparing a report that goes to the client, and manage and maintain project files.
  • Document Writing: Write and support the writing of documents, including field oversight documentation reports, field reports, health and safety plans, quality assurance project plans, field sampling plans, data management plans, remedial investigation reports, and feasibility studies.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines.
  • Experience: Experience with environmental site investigation/remediation and prior experience overseeing or working with subcontractors while performing field work.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel, and database and data visualization software experience.
  • License: EIT or PE license preferred.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
