Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Excavation and Drilling Technician to join our team at Berkel & Company Contractors Inc. The successful candidate will have a strong background in drilling practices, including duplex, air/fluid flushing, Kelly and casing methods.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with grouted tieback installation, micro piles, drilled piers, and other sheeting and shoring methods. They will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $60,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain drilling equipment and tooling to ensure optimal performance.
  • Fill out detailed daily rig reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure proper drilling procedures are followed to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
  • Overcome subsurface obstacles through creative problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Safely move equipment through the jobsite and oversee the safety of personnel.
Requirements
  • A high-school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for travel between job sites.
  • E-Verification is required for all employees.
  • Prior experience with drilling rigs, forklifts, skid steers, mini excavators, and other earthmoving equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, site layouts, and soil/boring reports is also beneficial.
Working Conditions
  • The role requires working in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • The physical demands of the job include standing, sitting, crouching, lifting, walking, and tolerating heights when required.
  • Able to lift heavy objects up to 80 lbs.
