Level 3 System Engineer

Position Summary:
Akina, Inc. is in search of a skilled Linux Systems Architect to enhance our Cybersecurity Infrastructure (CI) TTO Integration Team. This role is essential for managing both unclassified and classified cloud environments that constitute our CI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
The Level 3 System Engineer will be responsible for applying systems engineering principles across all phases of the systems life cycle, including: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. This position requires interaction with government representatives concerning technical aspects of Systems Engineering and addressing related challenges. The engineer will communicate effectively with program personnel, government officials, and senior management. The individual will ensure the technical integrity, quality, and thoroughness of work and deliverables across various process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:

• Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal;

• Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement;

• Enterprise Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management;

• Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Linux system administration and integration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure); including service provisioning and management of virtual services
  • Familiarity with vendor Platform as a Service offerings
  • System monitoring and maintenance, including service upgrades and security patching
  • Experience in troubleshooting services (Tier 1/2 level)
  • Configuration management experience, with knowledge of Puppet/SIMP, Ansible, Salt, Chef
  • Experience in RPM development, deployment, and upgrades
  • Familiarity with configuration and workflow tools such as GitLab and Jira

**Note: Potential for future telework, but not currently available**

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited institution, along with six (6) years of systems engineering experience. Alternatively, a High School Diploma or GED with ten (10) years of general system engineering experience, or a Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field with four (4) years of systems engineering experience, or a PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field with four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
