Role Overview
As a pivotal member of the TikTok Privacy & Security group, the DLM-Online Infra team plays a crucial role in ensuring responsible data practices and fulfilling privacy commitments to both regulators and users. This team is at the forefront of managing an extensive ecosystem of online services and databases, handling vast amounts of user data globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a skilled team of backend engineers while collaborating with frontend and mobile teams to develop innovative privacy-focused infrastructure.
  • Oversee the design and functionality of privacy engineering frameworks and platforms.
  • Mentor and cultivate team members to build a strong and effective engineering team.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in privacy engineering, gathering feedback from business lines to enhance the efficiency and stability of solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with operations and business teams to tackle technical challenges across our product suite.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including product managers, data scientists, and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing or leading a software engineering team.
  • Proficient technical skills in backend development, with experience in distributed systems, databases, and APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in an agile development environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated mentorship capabilities.
  • Extensive experience in designing Internet product architectures.
  • Experience in creating and delivering large-scale distributed systems that prioritize performance and stability.
  • Knowledge of implementing privacy by design and default principles in backend systems.
  • Experience in designing privacy awareness processes for the software development lifecycle, particularly in data collection, processing, and sharing.
  • Familiarity with data processing control solutions, such as purpose limitation and access control.
  • Experience with data protection solutions, including data classification and de-identification.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks to manage and control data lifecycles in compliance with privacy requirements.
