Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt educational programs approved for the county to the particular needs of the school and community, promoting a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
  • Serve on curricular development, research, and other committees and study groups as assigned, contributing to the development of innovative and effective educational programs.
  • Counsel with students, teachers, and parents on a variety of topics, providing guidance and support to ensure the success of all students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and Standard Professional Certificate issued by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Three years of successful teaching experience.
  • Evidence of exemplary human relations skills, ability to speak and write effectively, and demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
  • Enrolled in a school administration program of study at the master's level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities, and self-motivation with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and cross-group collaboration skills required.
Work Environment

The Administrative Intern will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, teachers, staff, and community members. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. The employee will frequently be required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The work environment is typical of a school setting, with occasional exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors.
