Medical Assistant

Valor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide exceptional patient care in our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Durango. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering quality healthcare to America's veterans.
About the Role:
- Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients with diseases and injuries, as directed by a physician or mid-level provider.
- Collaborate with the core PACT Team and expanded PACT Team to develop patient care plans.
- Actively assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests.
- Schedule clinic appointments and manage the Electronic Wait List.
- Answer phones and relay messages in a timely manner.
- Prepare and organize patient check-in lists, including medication lists for the next day.
- Collect lab specimens, operate electrocardiograph equipment, and administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments.
- Fulfill compliance requirements and maintain excellent clinical outcomes according to VA guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, colleagues, and clinic visitors.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certificate from an accredited program as approved by the state.
- Minimum two years' experience as an MA in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting.
- Certified and experienced in phlebotomy preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Energetic and optimistic demeanor, with exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications:
Must be in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA) and maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment. Credentialing may be required based on the individual VA contract.
