Position Overview:

The Senior Patient Services Specialist plays a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting various patient care services at Providence Health & Services. This position involves independent planning and execution of a diverse range of administrative tasks, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the scheduling of new patient appointments, follow-up visits, and necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Conducting insurance verifications, obtaining referrals, and securing authorizations.
  • Preparing and maintaining comprehensive medical records for patients.
  • Addressing billing inquiries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Handling multiple phone lines and effectively triaging calls.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Completion of Oncology administrative training within six months of hire.
- Medical Terminology Certification or completion of a Medical Terminology course within six months.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Preferred:
- Associate's Degree with a focus on Health Care or equivalent experience.
