Materials Science Manager

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Materials Science Manager to lead our Polymers and Composites Section. As a key member of our Materials Science Department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing research and development strategies, providing technical guidance and oversight, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence in materials science.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of materials scientists and engineers in the development and implementation of research and development strategies
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the successful execution of projects and programs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence in materials science
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide solutions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in materials science and technology to ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of our research and development efforts
- PhD in Materials Science or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in materials science research and development, with a focus on polymers and composites
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams and managing projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- 12+ years of experience in materials science research and development, with a focus on polymers and composites
- Experience leading change and driving innovation in a fast-paced research and development environment
- Strong understanding of materials science principles and their application to real-world problems
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive innovation and excellence
The Aerospace Corporation offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $134,200 - $201,300, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
