Role Responsibilities

  • The advanced practice provider (PA or APRN) is essential in managing the care of patients undergoing cardiac surgery in an outpatient environment.
  • Works in close collaboration with surgical teams for comprehensive perioperative and postoperative patient care.
  • Key duties include conducting detailed preoperative evaluations, ordering diagnostic tests, reviewing cases, and providing postoperative follow-up.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, with no weekend or on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program is preferred.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or Ambulatory Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is required.
  • Experience in cardiology is highly preferred.
