Job Summary

Hannaford Supermarkets is seeking a highly skilled Asset Protection Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Asset Protection Department, you will play a critical role in preventing and deterring theft and loss in our stores.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Asset Protection Department in shrink reduction activities, including internal and external theft, exception-based reporting, and audit functions.
  • Develop knowledge of the criminal justice system and laws related to private security practices.
  • Maintain working relationships with local law enforcement and court systems.
  • Complete and maintain accurate and appropriate reports and files.
  • Detect, apprehend, and deter shoplifters in accordance with company guidelines and legal statutes.
  • Make court appearances as necessary for prosecution.
  • Be proficient in Closed Circuit TV and other asset protection technologies and programs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all related information and investigations.
  • Assist in training new Asset Protection Coordinators.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to learn technical requirements of the job.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and make quick decisions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Meet minimum age requirements and pass a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
  • Sufficient visual acuity and audio capability to observe specific detail.
  • Mobility to respond quickly to the front of the store.
  • Ability to use computers and other communication systems.
Work Schedule

Asset Protection Coordinators will work five, eight-and-a-half-hour shifts and are allowed one weekend off per month. Must work at least one Sunday per month and two nights per week until at least 9:00 PM.
