This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of American Water's water and wastewater systems. As a Water/Wastewater Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical work in the maintenance and repair of water and wastewater systems, including water distribution systems, valves, hydrants, meters, and mains, as well as wastewater collection systems, mains, manholes, clean outs, and process equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance on water distribution systems, valves, hydrants, meters, and mains, and on wastewater collection systems, mains, manholes, clean outs, and process equipment.
- Clean and maintain wet wells, lift stations, grounds, facilities, and related equipment.
- Prepare orders for maintenance materials, supplies, spare parts, and equipment.
- Make equipment adjustments and report any serious equipment problems.
- Maintain computerized and manual records and prepare reports pertaining to the operation of the water distribution and collection systems, review daily work orders, complete daily reports, and make changes as required to meet operating requirements.
This position requires a strong understanding of water and wastewater systems, as well as excellent technical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance and repair of water and wastewater systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
