Tacoma, Washington, United States All About People Full time
Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team at All About People. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities that meet or exceed regulatory requirements and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including treatment processes, equipment selection, and system layout.
  • Manage a variety of projects from start to finish to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of proposed projects, including research and data collection, and civil design aspects like site grading and drainage considerations.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with outside consultants to ensure our systems integrate with other infrastructure components (pipelines, pumps, control systems, etc.).
  • Perform inspections, monitoring of treatment processes, and sample collection in support of wastewater treatment and dispersal operations.
  • Support the startup and operation of water and wastewater treatment systems, help troubleshoot operational issues, and have your voice heard when you suggest solutions.
  • Help generate project proposals, cost estimates, and construction schedules.
  • Use Autodesk Civil 3D to produce high-quality plans that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-years' experience as an EIT.
  • Water or Wastewater Operator's Certificate (any grade) a major bonus.
  • EIT certification (at a minimum) is required, or a recently licensed PE.
  • Bachelor's Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and processes related to water and wastewater treatment.
  • Familiarity with engineering software and tools: AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, hydraulic modeling software, etc.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and problem solve both independently and collaboratively with our teams.
  • Interest in being actively involved in on-site analysis, where you'll assess project conditions, identify potential issues, and develop practical solutions. Ability to assist in bridging the gap between design and execution, ensuring that our projects are not only well-designed on paper but also perform flawlessly in the real world.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and work in various weather conditions.
  • A natural aptitude for turning wrenches/building/fixing mechanical things. We want someone who understands how to build and fix things in the real world to not only be hands-on with our treatment plants, but to visualize how things draw on "paper" will function in the field.

What We Offer:

  • Flexibility of in-office or hybrid remote working conditions (this is NOT a full-time remote position – you'll generally be in the office at least 3 days per week).
  • Competitive and flexible compensation packages that focus on your specific needs and wants.
  • Full support of your career growth and helping you get there in your own style.
  • A wealth of opportunities to be mentored by a seasoned staff with significant depth and breadth of knowledge from design through operations.
  • Fostering an environment where your insights and perspectives are not just welcomed but actively encouraged.
  • High value placed on fresh approaches and inventive solutions that you bring to the table, with an openness to integrating your ideas into our processes and project designs.
