About the Role: As a Fleet Maintenance Manager at FedEx Freight, you will be responsible for overseeing fleet maintenance personnel, activities, and equipment readiness at a small shop location or on a shift at a large shop location. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, develop employees, and ensure that our equipment is running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Educate Employees: You will be responsible for leading, educating, and developing your team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: You will oversee the repair and maintenance of our equipment, ensuring that it is done in a high-quality and timely manner.
  • Monitor Employee Performance: You will monitor employee performance, provide corrective action when necessary, and be accessible to all areas of the shop.
  • Plan Daily Staffing: You will plan daily staffing to meet workload demands.
  • Support Operations Team: You will provide support to the Operations team regarding all equipment-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent, two years of vehicle maintenance experience, and six months of team lead/supervisory/management experience are required. One year of vehicle maintenance technical school training may substitute for one year of vehicle equipment maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, basic written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of tractor and trailer maintenance are preferred.

Working Conditions: Must be able to travel as needed, work in heavy traffic areas, and be exposed to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes, and noise.

Compensation: The estimated salary range for this role is $71,215 - $112,520 per year, depending on experience.
