Job Title: Computational Scientist

Become a part of the Intelligence and Space Research (ISR) Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory, a prestigious establishment recognized for its legacy in developing and managing pioneering measurement and detection systems for over six decades. Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and maintain modeling software using programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or Fortran
  • Assess models against both empirical and theoretical data
  • Work in partnership with national laboratories on model creation
  • Oversee small-scale projects and assist in higher-level funding proposals
  • Guide junior personnel and students
Minimum Requirements:
  • Background in computational physics or a related discipline
  • Strong skills in Python and knowledge of compiled programming languages
  • Eligibility to obtain DOE Q clearance
Desired Qualifications:
  • Specialization in EMP physics, radio frequency theory, or ionospheric physics
  • Experience with parallel computing and Linux operating systems
  • Current DOE Q Clearance
