At Aspire Living & Learning, we are dedicated to making a significant impact in the lives of individuals with autism and other disabilities. We are currently seeking a motivated Finance Associate to enhance our finance team.

Role Overview:
The Finance Associate is essential in overseeing personal funds and benefits for the individuals we serve, ensuring adherence to financial management best practices.


Compensation:
$20-23 per hour

Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday: 8:00am - 4:00pm or 8:30am - 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of financial tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and precise entry of financial transactions.
  • Collect, monitor, and analyze financial data.
  • Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for financial records.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and document procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of files for audits.
  • Collaborate with finance personnel across various offices.
  • Engage in efficiency planning and implementation.
  • Conduct research on accounting topics and present findings.
  • Foster positive working relationships within the team.
  • Manage benefits as a Representative Payee for individuals with disabilities.
  • Complete additional duties and projects as assigned.

Focus Areas:
  • Oversee and manage Representative Payee funds and benefits.
  • Monitor receipt and distribution of personal funds.
  • Ensure accurate processing and reporting of transactions.
  • Act as a liaison between Aspire and guardians regarding personal funds.
  • Process weekly accounts payable for individual accounts.
  • Conduct audits of transactions for appropriateness and documentation.
  • Track disability income payments and notify of changes.
  • Maintain eligibility for benefits and resolve issues.
  • Research public assistance programs to maximize benefits.
  • Train new and existing employees on funds management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a solid understanding of financial management, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. A minimum of two years' experience in a finance role is required, along with experience in financial software and systems. An Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is necessary, while a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for travel to various locations.


Working Conditions:

This position is based in a professional office environment, with some occasional travel required. The role may involve holiday work to meet processing deadlines.
