Bilingual Nutrition Support Specialist

This role is designed to offer essential support to the Nutritionist and/or Nutritionist Associate within our organization. The Bilingual Nutritionist Assistant may occasionally be required to assist in various offices across the district.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to and manage client inquiries
- Aid clients in completing necessary forms
- Complete required training modules related to WIC
- Educate clients on WIC program regulations
- Regularly perform blood sample collection and finger sticks for infants, children, and women
- Schedule appointments for WIC services
- Maintain accurate WIC documentation
- Compile and analyze WIC reports
- Ensure the collection and verification of information for WIC income eligibility assessments
- Engage in community outreach to promote program participation among eligible clients and complete assigned training and development opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven ability to interview clients and gather pertinent information
- Skill in interpreting, documenting, calculating, and compiling routine data
- Experience in obtaining blood samples and finger sticks from infants, children, and women
- Capability to provide educational support to clients
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with computer systems and software, including Crossroads and internal webmail
- Basic understanding of nutrition and dietary standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and collaborate within a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional coursework or training in dietetics, food services, or a related discipline
- Experience with the WIC program
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and documenting information accurately
- Experience in obtaining anthropometric and hemoglobin measurements
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
