Lead Family Services Specialist II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Family Services Specialist to join our team in the Family Preservation program. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, providing placement coordination, ensuring data compliance, and supporting staff in their roles. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to serving families in need.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise staff in the absence of the supervisor
- Provide placement coordination and ensure data compliance
- Support staff in their roles and provide guidance and training as needed
- Represent the Department on the Family Assessment and Planning Team (FAPT)
- Lead the Department in responding to the needs of families affected by substance abuse
- Develop and provide training to staff, including Mandated Reporter training
- Assist with supervising the Learnfare program
- Facilitate Family Partnership Meetings and serve as a VEMAT rater
- Serve as a liaison for CPS referrals and supervise interns
- Provide CPS on-call supervision to staff and represent the Department on other state and local committees
- Master's degree in social work or a related field
- Child protective services experience
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to supervise staff
- Strong oral and written communication skills and solution-focused approach
- Ability to engage, assess, and interview clients
- Assertive and confident, with strong independent thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong organization, time management, and computer skills
- Ability to deal effectively with conflict and maintain good personal boundaries and self-care
