Position Summary:

PCG INTERNATIONAL INC is seeking an Epic Care Ambulatory Orders Coordinator responsible for the precise and effective administration of the Epic Care Ambulatory Orders module within a healthcare setting. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers and administrative staff, to configure, implement, and enhance the Ambulatory Orders module of the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. The coordinator ensures that the module is in alignment with the organization's clinical workflows and adheres to regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Configuration of Epic Care Ambulatory Orders: Set up and manage the Epic Care Ambulatory Orders module according to the clinical needs of the organization, including order sets, templates, protocols, and clinical decision support mechanisms.
  • Workflow Evaluation and Enhancement: Work alongside clinical stakeholders to assess current workflows and pinpoint areas for improvement in the order entry process. Implement modifications to boost efficiency, accuracy, and patient safety.
  • System Coordination: Collaborate with other Epic modules and external systems to guarantee smooth integration of the Ambulatory Orders module with ancillary systems such as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and billing. Work with IT and interface teams to address and resolve integration challenges.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Perform comprehensive testing of the Ambulatory Orders module during system upgrades, new releases, or configuration adjustments. Ensure the functionality and accuracy of order entry, order management, results management, and related processes.
  • Training and User Support: Create and deliver training sessions to inform healthcare providers and other end-users about the Ambulatory Orders module. Provide ongoing assistance to users, troubleshoot issues, and resolve inquiries promptly.
  • Compliance with Regulations: Remain informed about relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements, such as Meaningful Use, MIPS, and other quality reporting initiatives. Ensure that the Ambulatory Orders module complies with these standards and assist in the documentation and reporting of quality metrics.
  • Documentation and Analysis: Maintain detailed documentation of workflows, system configurations, and modifications made to the Ambulatory Orders module. Generate reports and conduct data analysis to support decision-making and performance improvement efforts.
  • Continuous Development: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to ambulatory order management and EHR systems. Suggest enhancements and improvements to the Ambulatory Orders module to improve clinical effectiveness and user satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, or a related discipline. Relevant certifications in EpicCare Ambulatory Orders are highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience with the Epic EHR system, particularly in the configuration and optimization of the Ambulatory Orders module.
  • Strong comprehension of clinical workflows and healthcare operations, especially in the ambulatory context.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality reporting initiatives pertinent to ambulatory care.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a knack for identifying workflow inefficiencies and proposing effective solutions.
