Controller - Accounting and Administrative Expert

At Vitus Energy LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accounting, personnel, and administrative books and records in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of payroll processing, including employee records, 401(k) Plan management, and compliance with federal and state payroll taxes and reporting.
- Manage inventory control and tracking, including recording inventory transactions, reconciliations, and tax reporting.
- Review and process all bills for Vitus Energy, including classification of divisions and tax documentation.
- Provide statements to the Marketing Manager for collection efforts and process credit card payments when necessary.
- Maintain fixed asset records and perform month-end closing procedures, including amortization of prepaid expenses and reconciliation of cash.
- Research and advise on GAAP and tax issues, and make cash forecasts when balances are low.
- Communicate with QuickBooks, customers, and vendors as needed, and help produce a budget for the upcoming year.
- Review cash transactions daily to ensure proper deposit and recording, and maintain a functional and troubleshoot card processing problems at terminal locations.
- Produce monthly budget to actual comparisons for monthly budget meetings, and participate in company environmental, safety, training, staff, and management meetings as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, company policy, procedure manuals, and state and federal regulations.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups of agency personnel or employees of the company.
