Surgical Support Specialist I

SpecialtyCare is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Surgical Support Specialist I, focusing on providing essential support in the operating room environment.
Role Responsibilities:As a Surgical Support Specialist I, you will receive comprehensive training in Minimally Invasive Surgical Support, enabling you to enhance the operational efficiency of the surgical team. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring smooth procedures through:
- Delivering logistical and technical assistance for laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries.
- Setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining all minimally invasive surgical equipment, including video systems, to swiftly address any issues that arise.
- Managing routine procedures, which encompasses all tower functions and pre-operative setups, while demonstrating knowledge of instrumentation.
- Understanding the functionality and connectivity of video components and applying troubleshooting principles effectively.
- Collaborating with physicians and clinical staff to meet their preferences and requirements.
- Completing all necessary documentation, both paper and electronic, accurately and promptly.
- Ensuring that surgical supplies are adequately stocked and readily available.
- Cleaning and preparing equipment and instruments post-procedure, while responsibly disposing of refuse.
- Participating in shadowing and tray call coverage assignments as needed.
- Adhering to all required policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines.

- Performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification is preferred.
- No prior experience is necessary, although healthcare experience or training is advantageous.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- Proximity to contracted hospitals within a 30-minute commute.
- The ability to work flexible hours and participate in a call rotation, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation.
- The capability to successfully complete a pre-hire medical aptitude test and on-the-job training, including certification and required educational modules.
