Physician Assistant

Stanford Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. As a Physician Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a physician to provide high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and treating patients, obtaining complete histories and performing physical exams, ordering and collecting specimens for laboratory tests, and initiating arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints, and health maintenance concerns related to specialty.
- Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients.
- Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
- Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services.
- Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable.
- Obtain informed consent, as indicated.
- Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork.
- Enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the Investigational Review Board (IRB), and order the necessary tests and medications.
- Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university.
- Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
- PA - Physician Assistant State Licensure and BLS - Basic Life Support and DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration.
