Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Department of Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Nephrology, Rheumatology, or Endocrinology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints, and health maintenance concerns related to specialty
  • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients
  • Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient
  • Administer medications according to the formulary protocol or upon patient-specific approval from the supervising physician
  • Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products
  • Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services
  • Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable
  • Obtain informed consent, as indicated
  • Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the Investigational Review Board (IRB), and order the necessary tests and medications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university
  • Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
  • PA - Physician Assistant State Licensure and BLS - Basic Life Support and DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration
