Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the scheduling database by collaborating with various departments to confirm the precision of scheduled procedures.
  2. Coordinate patient procedure scheduling while aligning with Radiologists' availability and pre-register patients when feasible.
  3. Collect and input patient demographic information into the relevant information systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory documentation requirements.
  4. Monitor insurance websites to verify current policies and communicate authorization requirements to the scheduling team.
  5. Maintain and update lists of exempt physicians regarding insurance pre-authorization exemptions through diligent monitoring and communication.
  6. Oversee the management of the Diagnostic Services Faxpress folder, ensuring all received orders are accurate and properly filed.
  7. Act as a mentor for new team members, providing training and contributing to performance evaluations.
  8. Manage daily schedules for sedation and bed reservations, ensuring adherence to reservation protocols.
  9. Analyze Medicare Part B studies for appropriateness and liaise with physician practices for necessary authorizations.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare environment with a focus on patient registration, scheduling, or insurance authorization is preferred. Exceptional customer service and organizational skills are essential, along with familiarity with medical terminology.

Skills:

  • Language Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents, writing reports, and effective communication.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic calculations and handle financial transactions.
  • Reasoning Ability: Capable of applying common sense to follow instructions and solve problems effectively.
