Job SummaryThe Patient Flow Coordinator RN plays a critical role in facilitating the admission transfer and bed planning process for patients within the WakeMed System. This position requires collaboration with providers, emergency department staff, and nursing leaders to ensure appropriate patient flow and bed planning throughout the system.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in facilitating the admission transfer and bed planning process for patients within the WakeMed System.
- Collaborate with providers, emergency department staff, and nursing leaders to ensure appropriate patient flow and bed planning throughout the system.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and third-party utilization management regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal patient flow and external transfers through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient needs.
- 5 years of experience in acute care nursing, with a focus on utilization management and/or critical care.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse licensure and national certification in nursing within 1 year of hire.
Evening/nights (11am-11pm) and 7pm-7am shifts, with every other weekend requirement and call responsibilities.
