Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Coordinator to join our team at Arlington Public Schools. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our students, staff, and community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as administrative assistant to mid-level non-school based administrator, providing support for daily operations and ensuring smooth execution of tasks.
  • Plan, initiate, and complete clerical and administrative activities, including maintaining records and following up on correspondence and action documents.
  • Maintain supervisor's calendar, make travel arrangements, and screen phone calls and mail.
  • Format and type confidential and general correspondence, reports, and statistical data.
  • Gather, prepare, and distribute training materials, instructional resources, and information materials.
  • Process supplies, materials, and equipment using STARS, and prepare bid requests for instructional supplies.
  • Provide clerical support to psychologists and school social workers, assisting with educational and psychological testing and assessment activities.
  • Serve as receptionist in a central office department, responding to inquiries and distributing documents.
  • Perform various office-related financial, accounting, and budgetary tasks using office technology hardware and software.
  • Maintain time and attendance records, process leave requests, and verify leave data with payroll.
  • Utilize data management techniques to enter, edit, print, and file data.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of business office procedures, practices, and equipment, as well as business English and office terminology.
  • Knowledge of computer equipment and programs used at APS, including MS Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Ability to positively interact with colleagues, school-based staff, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Good organizational skills.

Estimated Salary: $56,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
