Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Controls Mechanic to join our team at the University of Miami. As a key member of our Central Energy Plant department, you will be responsible for implementing energy-efficient solutions and ensuring the optimal performance of our building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement energy-saving measures and optimize existing systems to minimize energy consumption
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on building control and monitoring systems
  • Respond to alarms and mitigate potential losses of research specimens and pharmaceutical drugs
  • Calibrate devices and obtain certification for sensors to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
  • Inspect and maintain heating, cooling, and electrical systems, including pumps and related equipment
  • Test and evaluate equipment performance using various instruments
  • Keep accurate records and files on equipment and maintenance activities
  • Provide remote or on-site support for fire alarm tests and smoke evacuations
  • Generate reports and summaries as needed to support departmental operations
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
