Role Overview

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Engineer to join our expanding Operations Engineering team. This role is critical in sustaining and enhancing the functionality of our equipment used in the manufacturing and assembly of battery components for our commercial products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop PLC and HMI programming with a focus on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable.
  • Implement Form Energy control standards, which emphasize tagging standards, OT networks, electrical requirements, instrumentation selection, programming, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the controls team, MES team, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Deliver control systems that adhere to Form Energy safety policies, working closely with the EHS team.
  • Review and redline electrical, pneumatic, and fluid schematics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience as a hands-on controls engineer.
  • Proficiency in electromechanical/mechatronic system design and motion control, as well as process automation.
  • Experience developing controls system logic for industrial equipment, including safety PLCs, human-machine interfaces, field bus networks, serial and Ethernet communication, and database systems.
  • Proficiency in selecting and integrating hardware for industrial automation and sensing.
  • Proven ability to design fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
