Job Summary:
The Float Patient Service Representative will provide exceptional patient care and administrative support across various Department of Medicine sites. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer patient calls, take accurate messages, and triage calls as needed
- Schedule new patient and follow-up appointments, ensuring timely and efficient scheduling
- Prepare patient charts, reviewing orders and ensuring all pertinent information is included
- Verify insurance eligibility, obtain necessary authorizations, and ensure compliance with insurance contracts
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records
- Assist with chart label preparation, patient database updates, and filing of medical records
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to routine requests for information and referring complex issues to appropriate staff
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of clerical support experience, preferably in a medical setting
- Computer skills, proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel), and knowledge of EPIC
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
