Position Overview:
Academic support coordinators serve as advocates and coordinators for students' academic support teams. They oversee the development and implementation of individualized educational plans (IEPs).

The IEP is tailored to address the unique needs of each student and incorporates a variety of instructional strategies and environments.

The coordinator will develop a deep understanding of their students, assist them in setting and achieving their learning objectives, and strive to create optimal educational experiences within their advisory groups.

This role reports directly to the campus principal.

Qualifications:
+ Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist license; prior relevant experience is preferred; + Strong interpersonal skills with both children and adults; + A diverse range of interests and a passion for continuous learning; + Familiarity with state and national academic standards and IDEA regulations; + Basic knowledge across all core content areas; + Understanding of pedagogical theories and practices; + Effective classroom management abilities; + Adaptability and problem-solving skills; + Experience with technology integration in educational settings; + Competence in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments; + Skills in graphic technology are a plus; + A collegial spirit and willingness to engage in student-centered activities are essential; + Ability to analyze problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions; + An entrepreneurial mindset; + Leadership capabilities; + Strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as a positive role model for students; + Assess students' academic, social, and personal strengths and needs; + Establish meaningful relationships with each student and their guardians; + Be accessible to students and parents for educational support outside traditional hours when necessary; + Collaborate with students and parents to develop annual IEPs and lead the Evaluation Team Referral Process; + Implement DECA's mission through instruction and action; + Understand DECA's goals and how they align with Ohio Department of Education standards; + Celebrate student achievements; + Hold students accountable for their academic progress; + Advocate for students and their families; + Anticipate educational needs for each student; + Design instructional programs that are both challenging and tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities; + Report on each student's progress academically and socially through regular updates; + Attend faculty meetings and participate in staff development sessions as required; + Facilitate access to additional academic, social, and health services for students as needed; + Mediate student conflicts effectively; + Maintain accurate and complete records for each student as mandated by educational regulations; + Employ diverse educational techniques to achieve learning objectives and set clear goals for each student; + Collaborate with school teams on academic and social intervention strategies; + Provide supplemental educational activities to support student growth; + Ensure students utilize standard materials as prescribed by school staff; + Occasionally transport students in compliance with safety regulations; + Perform other duties as assigned by the principal; + Commit to ongoing professional development.

Employment Terms:
+ 185 days + Salary commensurate with experience and educational qualifications. + All staff members are issued one-year contracts.

Physical Requirements:
