Kings County Hospital is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being Afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers, although knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful but not required.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review and sign out surgical pathology biopsies, excision, and resection cases.
  • Review and sign out cytopathology cases.
  • Prioritize malignant cases and submit all first-time malignant cases for daily intradepartmental consensus conference for peer review and concordance.
  • Complete cases within the required turnaround time (TAT) at Kings County Hospital.
  • Participate in internal/external quality assurance, performance improvement activities, departmental meetings, and facility-wide training as needed.
  • Involve in processing surgical pathology service management and quality improvement.
  • Instruct residents on general surgical pathology and cytopathology.
  • Participate in other clinical activities as requested by the service director.

Salary: $106.77 per hour
