We're seeking an experienced Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner to join our team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As an NPD Practitioner, you'll play a pivotal role in improving patient care and advancing nursing practice.

As an NPD Practitioner, your primary responsibilities will include facilitating learning, serving as a change agent, mentoring colleagues, influencing interprofessional practice, promoting scientific inquiry, advocating for the NPD specialty, and partnering with healthcare teams.

About the Role:
  • Orient and onboard new employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and implement competency management plans to enhance employee performance.
  • Create and deliver education programs to support professional role development.
  • Conduct research and implement evidence-based practices to improve quality and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster smooth transitions across learning environments and roles.
Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree in a related field.
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Internal candidates without a Master's degree may be considered with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and 5 years of directly related experience, inclusive of 2 years of UT Southwestern experience.
  • External candidates with a BSN may be considered with significant directly related experience exceeding the minimum requirements for internal candidates.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • RN licensure from the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross upon hire.
  • Certification in Nursing Professional Development within 1-1/2 years.
Benefits:
