The ideal candidate will embody the customer's perspective, shape the product vision, steer Agile teams, and effectively manage the product backlog to maximize incremental value delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in defining the product and technology roadmap by integrating market insights and stakeholder feedback.
- Engage in requirements gathering and analysis to articulate features and functional specifications.
- Transform overarching requirements into actionable epics and user stories for the software engineering team.
- Analyze and document Weatherford's operational workflows for software engineering consumption.
- Prioritize enhancements, features, and bug resolutions effectively.
- Facilitate backlog grooming sessions with Agile teams and key stakeholders.
- Establish acceptance criteria for user stories.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including daily standups and sprint reviews.
- Interact with customers and stakeholders to collect valuable feedback.
- Showcase software solutions to both internal and external audiences.
- Support beta testing initiatives.
- Assist in tracking project progress and reporting outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of user manuals, release notes, and support documentation.
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in the oilfield or equivalent roles.
- Profound knowledge of drilling operations and well construction methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to drilling operations.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Capability to maintain and prioritize a product backlog for software engineering teams.
- Experience in collaborating with service and support teams to address defect resolutions.
- Ability to assist the Product Management team in shaping the product roadmap.
- Strong interpersonal skills to promote teamwork.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Previous experience as a product owner or in project management roles.
- Background in developing engineering software within the energy sector.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience working with teams across different geographical locations.
