Core Responsibilities:

The primary role of an assembly technician involves executing tasks related to the production of bearing assemblies. This encompasses various duties, including pre-assembly inspections, assembly processes, preload operations, marking, final inspections, lubrication, and packaging.

Key Functions Include:
  • Preload Operations: Execute diverse preload tasks and grinding duties to meet company and customer specifications. This includes planning sequences, measuring components, and making necessary adjustments.
  • In-Process Inspection: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of components or assemblies at various stages of production.
  • Engraving: Perform engraving tasks on metal components using controlled machines, adhering to established protocols.
  • Precision Packaging and Lubrication: Handle washing and packaging of assembled precision bearings according to customer specifications.
  • Labeling and Documentation: Operate computerized printing machines for preparing labels and packaging for shipment.
  • Tool Maintenance: Manage assembly department tooling, including ordering, issuing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Utility Operations: Assist in secondary assembly setups and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Returns Processing: Manage customer returns, including disassembly, rework, and documentation.
  • Final Inspection Clerical Duties: Perform clerical tasks related to the final inspection process.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education is preferred.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in shop mathematics.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting tasks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be capable of using hands, legs, and have both near and far vision. Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 30 pounds is necessary. The role requires extended periods of walking and standing.
