Job Title: Water Resources Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Resource Environmental Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing water resource projects that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop natural resource plans, stream and/or wetland restoration plans, sustainable stormwater design plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and as-built plans.
  • Participate in the development of ecological restoration construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Develop H&H models and evaluate design discharge, channel cross-section, profile, and planform using a variety of methods.
  • Collaborate with scientists, land acquisition specialists, regulatory experts, and senior design/engineering staff to carry out geomorphic and ecological site assessments, fulfill mitigation crediting field protocols, and apply fluvial geomorphic/hydraulic surveys.
  • Provide construction oversight as needed during project implementation and restoration success monitoring.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a water resources / environmental / ecological focus.
  • 2+ years' experience in a natural resources design field (civil engineering, environmental engineering, biological systems engineering, agricultural engineering, or water resources engineering).
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS or other hydrologic and hydraulic software.
  • Knowledge of field survey and data collection techniques, fluvial geomorphology, and EIT Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of the use of regional regressions, regional curves, and reference data in stream restoration design.
  • Familiarity with the Clean Water Act, local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
  • Familiarity with mitigation banking.
