About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our California Water Resources group, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients in the San Diego region with their water resources needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project and Team Management: Lead project-related assignments, delegate tasks to a multi-disciplinary team, and provide day-to-day supervision on project-related tasks.
  • Technical Responsibilities: Plan and oversee the design of stormwater management and drainage restoration projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic watershed modeling, engineering computations, and technical document preparation.
  • Business Development: Obtain and/or manage new contracts or follow-on work with existing clients, support proposal development, and participate in professional conferences and networking events.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of related progressive experience in civil engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • California Professional Engineer license (P.E.).
  • Experience with local regulatory environments, including San Diego County, City of San Diego, or other local municipalities.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • A proven track record of obtaining and/or managing new contracts or follow-on work with existing clients.
  • Experience using and overseeing modeling and design software tools such as HydroCAD, EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
