Position: Clinical Nurse Educator

Department: Operating Room and Endoscopy

Shift: Part-time variable; Generally Monday to Friday, with potential for full-time dual role if interested in working part-time as a staff RN on the unit.

Facility: Premier Health Partners

The Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) – Care Site is a registered nurse (RN) with expertise in nursing professional development who influences the competence and growth of learners across various settings, aiming for enhanced population health outcomes. This role involves supporting care sites by assessing professional development needs in collaboration with departmental leadership, system NPD Specialists, and the Learning Institute.

Key responsibilities of the Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) include:

  • Learning Facilitator
  • Change Agent
  • Mentor
  • Leader
  • Champion for Inquiry
  • Partner for Practice Transitions
  • Advocate for NPD specialty

Additionally, this individual may provide direct patient care in alignment with the clinical nurse role.

Responsibilities encompass Onboarding/Orientation, Competency Management, Education, Role Development, Collaborative Partnerships, and Inquiry.

The primary outputs of the NPD practice include learning, change, and the enhancement of professional role competence and growth.

Through collaboration with key stakeholders and ongoing environmental assessments, the Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) – Care Site is accountable for adherence to applicable regulatory standards, institutional policies, and supporting the organization in achieving strategic outcomes.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:
Type of degree: Graduate from an accredited nursing program
Area of study or major: Nursing
Preferred educational qualifications: N/A
Position specific testing requirement: N/A

Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current CPR certification
Valid RN Licensure in the State of Ohio
ACLS, PALS, based on service line/specialty requirements
Specialty certification or NPD certification within three years of hire

Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Registered Nurse, Educator, Faculty in area of specialty
Preferred experience: 1 or more years of clinical precepting/teaching experience
