The Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) (NPDP) – Care Site is a registered nurse (RN) who possesses nursing professional development practice judgment and expertise. The individual will collaborate with departmental leadership, system NPD Specialists, and the Learning Institute to address professional development needs within the care sites.
The responsibilities of the Nursing Professional Development RN (Practitioner) encompass roles such as:

- Partner for Practice Transitions
- Advocate for NPD specialty
Additionally, this individual may provide direct patient care in alignment with the clinical nurse role.

The primary outcomes of the NPD practice focus on learning, change, and the professional development of roles.
Through effective collaboration with key stakeholders and ongoing environmental assessments, the Professional Development RN (Practitioner) is accountable for adherence to applicable regulatory standards, institutional policies, and supporting the organization in achieving strategic outcomes.
Education Requirements
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current CPR certification is mandatory.
Valid RN Licensure in the State of Ohio is required.
ACLS and PALS certifications may be necessary based on service line/specialty requirements.
Specialty certification or NPD certification is expected within three years of hire.
Experience Requirements
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of relevant job experience.
Prior job titles may include Registered Nurse, Educator, or Faculty in the area of specialty.
Preferred experience includes at least one year of clinical precepting or teaching experience.
