Position Overview

The State of Connecticut is actively looking for a dedicated and experienced professional to serve as a Nurse Consultant at our esteemed healthcare facility. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping educational programs and imparting essential nursing knowledge to our committed nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the educational needs of both staff and patients.
  • Conduct thorough research to stay updated with the latest advancements in nursing.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff across various levels, including orientation and specialized programs.
  • Oversee the practical learning experiences of staff participating in training initiatives.
  • Exemplify professional behavior and serve as a role model for nursing staff.
  • Engage in continuing education opportunities and disseminate knowledge among colleagues.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports as mandated.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of participants in educational programs.
  • Uphold the human and civil rights of all patients and staff members.
  • Contribute to committees and assist in the recruitment of new personnel.

Job Classification Purpose

This role involves applying professional nursing expertise in various capacities, including consultation, education, and program assessment within health care services.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of professional nursing experience, with a focus on supervision, consultation, or education.
  • Two years of experience must be specifically in pediatric nursing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general experience.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for an additional year of experience.

Special Requirements

  • Current licensure as a registered professional nurse in Connecticut is mandatory.
  • Certification as an Insurance Rehabilitation Specialist may be required.
  • Travel may be necessary for this position.
