Anesthesia Equipment Specialist

Job Summary
As an Anesthesia Technician with Northwell Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Anesthesia department. Your primary responsibility will be the maintenance and operation of Anesthesia equipment, ensuring that it is in good working condition and ready for use at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain Anesthesia equipment, including monitoring devices and anesthesia machines.
- Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment for procedures, including the setup of anesthesia circuits.
- Notify the Bio-Medical Specialist of any equipment that requires repair.
- Take appropriate action to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safe and effective administration of anesthesia.
- Set up and calibrate pressure transducers and pressure modules as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations in the O.R. and set up emergency equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding the need for special equipment and supplies.
- Maintain quality control and log records of equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to safety and Infection Control policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians Certification within two years of employment preferred.
- BCLS Certification preferred.
- Prior experience working in a hospital environment preferred.
Salary Information
