Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instructional Leadership and Support Specialist to join our team at West Contra Costa USD - Richmond. The successful candidate will provide instructional leadership and support to teachers and paraprofessional staff to ensure all students, including English learners, Special Education students, GATE students, and underperforming students, are provided a challenging core curriculum and meet state and District standards and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers and paraprofessional staff to ensure effective instructional practices and student achievement.
  • Assess instructional needs of the school and implement professional development and curriculum changes to improve instructional programs.
  • Establish coaching relationships with teachers to improve instructional practices and student achievement.
  • Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers to improve instructional practices.
  • Monitor the quality of instruction programs via learning walks, assurance checklists, and data teams.
  • Use data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of current instructional practices and materials.
  • Provide professional development, including job-embedded activities and coaching, to teachers and paraprofessional staff to improve instructional practices and student achievement.
  • Collaborate with school administration teams, local district staff, and central office staff to complete tasks and activities.
Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California Administrative Credential.
  • A minimum of five years of school certificated service, with a minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
  • CLAD or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of effective instructional methods and strategies, appropriate assessment practices, and school improvement research.
  • Knowledge of District curriculum, instructional objectives, and assessments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with all stakeholders, including formal, public presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, and socio-economic groups and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
