Job Overview

Tata Consumer Products is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining good manufacturing practices, operating and monitoring equipment, and performing minor troubleshooting to achieve optimum performance.

This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts, hourly base rate up to $34/hr, and OT eligibility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and millwright experience, with expert knowledge in at least two systems areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and excellent housekeeping practices throughout the shift in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
  • Operate, monitor, diagnose, and perform minor troubleshooting of equipment to achieve optimum performance.
  • Expert knowledge in at least two of the following systems areas: Bulk material transfer, Processing, Packaging, Facilities/utilities.

Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED; Technical/Trade School graduate or apprenticeship program.
  • 5 years maintenance/millwright experience and expert knowledge in three systems areas.
  • Knowledge and skill equivalent to two years' experience in a manufacturing environment handling all levels of power voltage.
  • Experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team player and/or individual contributor with track record of success on high-performance teams.
  • Knowledge of computers.

Physical Requirements:

In order to perform duties in a satisfactory manner, you must be able to navigate the production floor where temperatures may vary in an environment with dust particulates. Prolonged standing and walking. Bends, stoops, climbs, and crouches on a regular basis in order to service, troubleshoot, and clean equipment. Also required to push, lift, and pull various raw materials such as film, tin tie rolls, and valves weighing up to 60 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Mechanical equipment with moving mechanical parts.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, dusts, heat, cold, and fumes from chemicals used in flavorings.
