Job Summary

Mechanical Design Specialists at Melton Machine & Control Company are responsible for designing and developing custom weld fixtures and machines. They work closely with customers to manage large and small programs, and support the onsite fabrication and assembly process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom weld fixtures and machines using Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
  • Collaborate with Controls Engineering on the design of controls systems
  • Support manufacturing during fabrication and assembly
  • Assist with the creation of shipping and manual issues
  • Participate in department and company-wide continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor and Vault a plus)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in mechanical design or related field
  • Familiarity with Safety Codes, ANSI B11, OSHA, and Industry Accepted Guarding practices
