Position Summary
The Healthcare Support Specialist will perform a variety of administrative and clinical functions within our facility. This role involves working closely with medical staff under the guidance of a physician or Mid-Level Provider, as well as administrative oversight from the Clinic Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and operate within the scope of practice for Medical Assistants.
- Manage patient flow and assist in scheduling, while communicating any delays effectively.
- Prepare for patient visits by reviewing medical histories and relevant test results, ensuring accurate data entry into clinic systems.
- Identify patients using two identifiers, take vital signs, conduct intake assessments, and assist providers during patient encounters.
- Support medical procedures and ensure proper insurance authorizations are in place; prepare exam rooms and assist with patient positioning.
- Administer medications as directed by supervising physicians and provide patient education regarding treatment plans.
- Perform minor medical procedures and document them accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of medical assisting education or related training is highly preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records is advantageous.
- Prior healthcare experience is required.
Special Employment Conditions
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.

Work Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday through Friday
