Job Overview

Shelter Resources, Inc. is seeking a skilled Lead Financial Analyst to contribute to our mission in the affordable housing sector. The successful candidate will possess a strong numerical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and extensive experience with financial software such as MS Excel and QuickBooks. This role requires excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities, as well as the ability to operate independently in a dynamic office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and Accounting Manager to manage daily financial operations in QuickBooks for multiple development entities.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations, finalize general ledger entries, and prepare financial statements and management reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of monthly funding requests and invoices.
  • Record journal entries for accrued revenues and expenses.
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors and stakeholders to address and resolve discrepancies.
  • Compile necessary documentation for audits, tax returns, and cost certifications.
  • Assist in the year-end audit and tax return processes.
  • Analyze Ownership Agreements, focusing on cash flow management.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests.
  • Review financial reporting from third-party management services.
  • Support additional projects and reporting tasks as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proactive self-starter with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with both remote and on-site teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in real estate development and affordable housing finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks.
