Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Support Specialist to join our team at North Suffolk Community Services Inc. As a key member of our residential support team, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals living in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered support to individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders, helping them achieve symptom stabilization and self-management.
  • Assist individuals in identifying personal priorities, preferences, strengths, and interests to establish goals that support a life in recovery.
  • Arrange and transport residents to appointments or daily outings, promoting socialization and community involvement.
  • Complete administrative tasks, such as answering phones and filling out paperwork, to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
  • Valid driver's license required; MAP certification within five months of hire and CPR/First Aid certification within the orientation period.
  • ASL fluency a plus.
