Job Overview

Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Technician 2 will play a critical role in our Shaping Department, responsible for setting up machinery and processing products to meet stringent specifications. This position is vital to ensuring that Silfex products adhere to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply specification criteria before executing machining tasks.
  • Interpret blueprints and work instructions to determine machining procedures.
  • Operate machinery in accordance with training and specifications.
  • Manufacture components following work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Handle machined materials properly.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain machinery to ensure product consistency.
  • Enhance job proficiency through continuous learning.
  • Work effectively in both team settings and independently.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet production goals.
  • Stay updated on technical skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of machining areas.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any hazards to management.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles, including 5S methodology.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the Silfex Quality Management System and apply relevant procedures.
  • Operate various shaping equipment, including Wire Saw, Band Saw, and OD Grinder.
  • Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics for calculations.
  • Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Capability to assess technical drawings and specifications.

Physical Requirements:
