Our facility provides a wide array of services, including critical care, emergency services, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, surgery, and urgent care.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a committed Veterinary Technician to support our Neurology department. Compensation: $40.00/hr plus shift differentials and a $3,000 hiring bonus for new full-time employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply knowledge of neurological anatomy and function.
- Administer high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance during surgical and imaging procedures.
- Calculate and prepare medication and fluid doses for hospitalized patients.
- Assist in surgical procedures and advanced imaging techniques.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placements, urinary catheter placements, and more.
- Conduct and assess normal physical examinations on canine and feline patients.
- Observe and document changes in patient behavior and condition.
- Gather patient histories and assist during neurologic evaluations.
- Enhance patient care through collaboration with the Neurologist.
- Engage in client education and maintain accurate client and patient records using practice management software.
- Support rehabilitation efforts for paralyzed patients.
- Execute procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance.
- Full-Time
- 4/10 Schedule - Monday to Wednesday and one additional day each week.
- 1-2 Saturdays per month required.
- California RVT certification.
- 3+ years of experience in a specialty veterinary setting.
- Preferred experience in neurology and anesthesia.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with staff and clients.
- Reliable mathematical skills for drug calculations and client invoicing.
