Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit team at HCA Florida JFK Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Responsibilities
  • Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • A minimum of one year acute care hospital Medical/Surgical/Cardiac RN experience

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is a 558-bed acute care facility known for services including emergency services, cardiovascular care, neurosciences, and robotic surgery. We offer orthopedic and spine care, bariatrics, behavioral health, and obstetrics. Our hospital is a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and an American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center.
